Nagli Ambat | Kane Fish Curry | Konkani Recipe

Ingredients:

* Nagli / Kane fish 2
* Grated coconut 1 cup
* Dry chillies (Byadgi) 10
* Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
* Roasted coriander seeds 1 tea spoon
* Onion 1 big(finly chopped)
* Fenugreek seeds(methi seeds) 10 no.
* few raw mango pieces or small tamarind piece
* Oil 2 tea spoon
* Salt

Preparation:

* To prepare masala in a mixi jaar put grated coconut, dry chillies, turmeric powder, roasted coriander seeds.
* Grind into smooth paste with water.
* In a thick bottom pan add oil, add methi seeds.
* Once seeds turn red add onions.
* Add fish pieces once onions turn pink in colour.
* Fry fish for a minute or so.
* Then add in the prepared masala.
* Also add water as required.
* Add salt and mango pieces.
* Bring 2 boils and curry is ready.

Special Tips:

*If we use raw mango the taste of the curry is very good, instead of tamarind.
